Collection: The Power of Three

At Retrospect Galleries we are pleased to start the new year with a special online exhibition where our artists have created collections of their work around the idea of 'The Power of Three'. Based on an idea from literature that groupings of three, be it three events or three characters for example, are more effective as they work to together. Visually, grouping artworks can also provide a more satisfying visual experience as the works complement each other.

The trios (sometimes duos) in 'The Power of Three' bring together several artworks by the same artist, selected for their thematic or visual affinity. In some cases they are the last opportunity to acquire works from a limited edition or a body of work that has been particularly popular.

As highlights in the exhibition, you can find trios of the popular popsicles by Californian sculptor Betsy Enzensberger including her 'Dream Big Trio' bringing to you all the glitter you never knew you needed... 

Sonia Alins presents 'Dones d'Aigua' trio featuring three limited editions she launched with us at the end of 2020, featuring 'Brave', 'Meditacion', and 'Banista entre Corales' and we also have the trio 'Floral Minds Trio' and the 'Astronaut Duo' by Armenia-born artist Minas Halaj whose highly original creations call back to symbols, materials and techniques from Old Masters.

The Surf Series by Australian-Spanish artist Alberto Sanchez are some of the highly sought after works also featuring in the exhibition. The Surf Trio 1 features 'Bronce y Sueño', 'Gran Azul', and 'Eloquentia II', three hand painted photographs that the artist took himself in some of the most beautiful surfing spots in Australia.

In addition to the intrinsic beauty of these artworks, we are pleased to be offering these trios at a very special price for a limited time period of time only and thus provide you with a great way to begin a collection of gorgeous original artworks.
