"My intention is to reveal an internal storm, the inner psychology hidden behind stereotypes and social burdens. The fragility of my subjects contrast with a female strength and rage that hovers beneath the surface of my girls. I frequently hide the features portrayed with urban symbolism, childish innocence and protest iconography to symbolise the layers that often conceal an alternate reality.
My subjects are mainly female, proud and powerful."
'Fluo in Pink is a new original artwork by Lantomo, is the pseudonym of Antonella Montes, an Italian realist artist based in Barcelona.
Dedicating herself exclusively to her passion of painting, Lantomo’s journey took her to Beijing, China, where she lived for two years. Her period in China left an indelible trace, influencing her artwork and style. Her drawings became more accurate and detailed, and she began working in monochrome, sometimes utilizing only highlights of colour. Adapting a hyper-photorealistic approach, Lantomo’s subjects frequently have Asian features.
Lantomo’s work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs across Europe, Beijing, and she is currently being shown at CONTEXT Art Miami for two consecutive years.
