'Foot on the Ground' is a new sculpture by artist Ciane Xavier, an artist based in the Philippines. Ciane started her artistic career drawing and painting but quickly expanded her practice to encompass sculpture, installation, and, most recently, virtual reality.
In her practice, Ciane engages with a variety of elements and references from pop culture and explores explores the boundaries of today's society, touching upon globalization and the distractions of the millennial era. The characters in her works serve as an exploration of the human soul, symbolizing power, fragility, vulnerability and eternity but retaining a sense of vagueness to encourage a dialogue and question the viewer.
