Bio

Born, raised and currently living in Germany with an unbridled obsession for pictures. In principle, I have been focusing on digital collages for around ten years now. I take photographic material, rearrange it, and abstract it using photo-editing software. Therefore I create own photographic material and I work with photographers all around the world.

Before discovering this fascinating subject, I also worked obsessively on painting and drawing. Indeed, this was a good route, as the knowledge I gained there helps me in my work today and I still do a lot of painting and drawing.

I did not try to gain any access to the art world until 2016. But after the decision was finally made, I was directly nominated for The BLOOOM Award in 2016 and had the opportunity to present myself at the Art Fair in Cologne. After that I found awesome gallery support, which made it possible for me to exhibit excerpts of my work in Germany. In 2017, I was shortlisted for the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize and, as a result, I exhibited in London. Additionally, I’m very happy about several press and magazine features. My work is unique in this field and I am very pleased about the current attention to it.

ARTIST STATEMENT

‘Back to the beholder’ is the motto behind my digital collages. Better said, a unique identity developed over years. I use present-day visual language and techniques and comine it with old, but fundamental rules of painting and drawing. So many things subjectively shape our perception nowadays. All that can be used to move the beholder. Modern media influences, but also almost forgotten ideas about shapes, colors and expression. My wish is that the beholder feels addressed immediately without any further explanation in order to create a personal experience.
