ABOUT BREZA CHECCHINI
Breza Cecchini Ríu (Oviedo 1976) studied sculpture and engraving at the Oviedo School of Art, obtaining special recognition there for her final year project. Simultaneously, she studied in the José Luis Pantaleón studio and in the Santa María de Albarracín Foundation with a team of professors from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Universidad Complutense, Madrid.
Breza has exhibited her work widely both as part of solo and group exhibitions at galleries including Espacio Líquido, Texu, Dos Ajolotes, Gloria Helmound and cultural centres such as Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial y Casa Duro, Museo Barjola among others; she has also participated in several art fairs including Dearte, Estampa, Arco and Más que libro. Internationally, he has exhibited in Belgium and in the Government Delegation of the Principality of Asturias in Lorient.
Throughout her career, Breza has been received various awards starting with the Prize for young creators of the Calcografía Nacional and the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando; she was also awarded a scholarship at the Joan Miro Foundation to later form part of the Albacete Painting Chair directed by the celebrated artist Antonio López and more recently she was the winner in the 2021 Noreña 'a plein air' painting competition. Breza's work is in public and private collections including that of the Government Delegation of the Principality of Asturias, Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias and the Casa de la Moneda.
