ARTIST STATEMENT

The themes that inspire my drawings are often interests that I formed in my childhood. Letter writing, philately, entomology, travel, and learning, continue to be important influences.

Another source of inspiration is the four years that I spent in Germany. The realities of a new culture, migration, homesickness, and of being an immigrant, have all helped to form new narratives in my work.
