Collaboration and experimentation are a focal point of her work. In July 2014, Caitlin and collaborating artists Travelled to Qinghai on the Tibetan Plateau, Chongming Island nearby Shanghai, creating work with the yak herding community, spinners, knitters this  multi-layered and diverse body of new work explores the links between these communities at the heart of textile production in both countries. The resulting exhibition will tour Australia and China in 2015-6.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is a direct response to my surroundings, daily comings and goings and a reflection of my environment both physically and emotionally. By working quickly a suspension of conscious knowledge was shaped into a coherent whole. The outcome is often a layering of histories and surfaces that hold mistakes to ransom, their erasure becoming an extension that expands an understanding of a continuing transformative experience of place.
