From Germany to Singapore, we soar
We have just flown into Singapore from Hamburg! As you know, Retrospect Galleries is a regular at the Asian Affordable Art Fairs, having exhibited in Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea in the past. We have a great relationship with Asia, and it’s great to be back!
Traveling to beautiful cities around the world is fantastic not only because we have the chance to share incredible discoveries of artistic talent with art lovers. No, we’re also very lucky to have artist Alberto Sanchez as part of our Retrospect Planet Team, whose work you might recognise from art fairs! Alberto’s artwork has its roots in photography, where his black and white frozen images of surf and city life remind us that every moment is worth capturing and is uniquely beautiful. From this base, Alberto hand paints over the photograph, exposing an imaginary world that lies just beneath the surface. His mind overflowing with vision, he pours out his thoughts in water colour, acrylic, pencil, crayon – whatever is within reach – to illuminate with colour this moment from his travels.
It’s the base for his works that Alberto collects as we travel. His solo expeditions to capture the perfect moments takes him all around the countries we visit, and often he disappears for a few days only to resurface at our next art fair destination, a camera full of images in tow.
We’ve brought a selection of Alberto’s newest works with us to Singapore, a taste of which you can see below:
Alberto’s pieces are being shown in equally wonderful company by the likes of Shari Weschler Rubeck, Gabriel Moreno, Felicia Aroney and Emil Olssen, just to name a few. If you would like to see any of the catalogues for the artist’s we’re showing here in Singapore, comment below with your email address and we will send you some more information! Of course, we can also help you acquire tickets for entry to the fair.
Hope to see you there!
